First frost of the year.Wife just lifted a 1/2"sheet of ice off of the outside pet water dish...BBRRRR
 
Solid 25 degree frost here in central MN this morning. Nice to kill off the gnats and set the mold and spores to rest for the season. We need rain, though regional crops were average the end of season moisture was way down. the Mississippi (1/4 mile away to the east) is running at about 50% volume (guess) Jim
 
Jim, you are better of in MN than we are in IA. The rivers are running at 0-10% volume here.
 
Just last night spoke with a man from Tennessee.He said how LOW the Missippi River is.Must be pretty bad...
 
For us a frost is that ice sheet that forms on car windows even though the tempature is not 32.
It will be mid november before I see my first frost and a little south of me where dad lives it will be mid december for the first frost.

We might get 5 to 10 days a year where it gets cold enough at night where we have to worry about our water pipes freezing.
It is VERY rare for my pond to get ice on it.
 
The weather man called for a frost/freeze last night but I do not see any thing that says we got it. All my garden is still just fine so figure we got missed
 
It was 13.8 degrees here in my neck of the desert NW Iowa. All of the leaves lost their lustre. We went from colorful fall foliage to drab gray overnight. Jim
 
Uhg, that's not for me. I just got done planting about 150 feet of sweet corn. When and if we get a freeze, it's usually about the first week of January so this should be fine. Southern tip of Texas BTW.
 
Didn't have a half inch over here in Ft. Collins last night but it was a good frost. Grass was white at daybreak. By eight it was to hot for a coat.
 
My daughter is thinking about moving down to the Corpus Chrisy area of TX. She lives out in Washington state right now. At least that way she would be a tad bit closer to me
 
Ya I told her that doing so would cut the distance in about half maybe a tad bit more but not by much. Right now she is around 3000 mile from me if she moved it would be more like 1300 give or take
