One o' those days!

Went to the first tractor show in quite a while yesterday. Took the '27 McDeeering 15-30 and hauled my brother and his '63 Ford 2000 with me.

After a long hard pull to the show we found that the Ford was leaking fuel badly from the tank sender and Big Mc just wasn't feeling well. The little Ford had to tow Big Mc from the trailer to the show grounds and pull start me a couple of times when I just tuckered out from crank duty. I finally did get Big Mc running well enough to cruise around on and back to the trailer.

After a cool windy day with mist we headed back to the trailer to reload and I was snake bit again. I let Big Mc get away from me and it rolled back about 8 feet into the Ford and took out it's radiator. Grrrrrrr! So after another long drive we were breaking out the wrenches and yanking out the radiator to take it to the shop.

Oh well some days just don't go as planned.... but I guess that just goes with the hobby.

Happens to me when we want to show our stuff. Saturday took 52 Chev truck to parade. I thought it had been running good. It back fired, really acted up, Think it is time to check the points and condenser. Did make it through the parade and home, thankful for that.

We decided to take the grandkids on a fall break trip in the motorhome. We are now about 500 miles from home and the transmission quit completely. Late Saturday evening, no shop is open. $450 to tow to a campground, 2-3 nights there, Monday try to find a repair shop, tow bill again, pay at their mercy for repairs. All the while trying to entertain a 5 and 7 year old. I would gladly repair your radiator if you pay my weekend bills.

nice truck, also look carefully at the cap, a hairline crack there will also make it run that way, one bit me on a old chevy i like to never figured it out

have to admit i really didnt figure it out i changed the cap and rotor simply because they were the only parts i hadnt worked on yet lol, fixed it on that one

been there my self, took the j-d and furgey, lawn tractor to show at fair grounds, yep, j-d started at home, wouldn't start at show, had to pull off and pushed on after show, never would start after pulling half way around grounds,,,
