slide hammer log splitter ?

Seems like a good way to get in shape.Based on the video I watched, I don't think it would be much good on stringy wood.

They would work on soft wood but try some good hard wood and ya better take a small bite and even then doubtful.

they work fine if you like working your fanny off, hard wood works best if you cut it now and split it next year after its sat for a year, i got one of them as well as maul, and sledge and wedges, but.. do to my increasing age and severely damaged back ive had to wimp out and buy a powered gas splitter, glad i did lol

Pretty hard to beat an old-fashioned Axe..and maybe a 6lb Maul as a back-up..
Honey Locust of Beech are easy-splitting, as well as Ash..
Pin Oak or Elm is quite another matter...!!

The Colder the temperature, the better for splitting...
Frozen wood always splits better..

I can't imagine why anyone would try and use one of those rigs if they had the strength to swing a maul. Heck of a lot of work for little result. Go buy a decent 6 lbs maul and be happy.

If you want to buy one of those...Remember what
