i have an older used riding mower that sat outside most of its life.the oil is milky white.i have flush the crankcase with deisel fueland changed the oil a number of times.the oil is still milky white. it is a air cooled engine.oil is still milky.do you think a bottle of isopurple alcohol{dry gas} would help remove the moisture. i believe it was from condensation. i am running HD30 oil.it is just a beater tractor i use for firewood.[poor mans four wheeler]

Go to your local case or jd dealer and get a qt of their best hyd oil, they have additives to absorb water. Run it for a couple a minutes then drain and replace. Then run the engine for a couple a hours under as much load as yoou can to get it hot, this will cook out what's left.

No. 1---Blow-by in a worn engine will allow moisture to get past the rings.

No. 2---Running the engine on short runs, thus not allowing the engine to get hot enough to rid the crankcase of moisture.

No. 3---Combination of #"s 1 & 2.

Atthe risk of all the other posters laughing here goes 50 years of experience.. NEW oil WILL mix with water and turn white or milky. Go to where someone runs large disel fleet of semi tractor trucks. Take a clean containe and as they drain a truck catch you a coupel gallons.
Drain you mower fill to the required mark with this USED OIL.. run you engine 20 minutes or so.
Shut it off and let it set with the drain in the lowest place. In the morning remove the drain and out will come pure seperated water or moisture. THEN you can drain the used oil and replace with new. Have uses this procedure on large machines for years. USED OIL from desiels will just not absorb water, will help flush it all out.. Let us know the results, think you will be suprised how easy it was.

If you have changed the oil and let it drain out real good, RUN it (with New Oil) and let it get up to Operating temperature and keep it at Operating Temperature for an Hour or so and the moisture should be gone...
Air-Cooled engines get plenty hot enough to dry themselves out...
