a little bit quirky but they had a couple decent models,i had a 1690 case that came from the david brown factory,it should have been sent to china right off the assembly line.

I see you got the loader off the 2-44. If things ever slow down,I still want to give you a call on that.

My little Deutz-Allis hard at work.
Obviously far too much work for me to do, so the boss took over! LOL

No pictures but I had a 1085 fergesoun for a while. Every time I spoke about it I used a few choice words that started with "D".

(quoted from post at 18:37:12 10/01/12) never had a David Brown are they a good tractor?

Few know that DB built Ferguson's first 3 point hitch tractors, Sir David Brown found him "insufferable". Ford found that out later too.

No question, the early 6 cylinder ones had some issues.

The built a huge amount of 990s over about a 20 year span.

Like any tractor their downfall is lack of maintenance and outright abuse.

Kruser,
That is really neat!! Love the rust. So I assume it belongs to Rusted Nuts.

Do they have to be licensed at all (since I am not seeing a plate on front)? Or do they count them more as a tractor?

It was left in Alaska after the Army discharged dad in the middle 40"s. He"s had many more old toys since then as he was a mechanic.
