I worked with these two old fanning mills last winter to come up with a portable cleaner. I can clean nearly a ton an hour (Red Fife wheat). I collect the clean wheat in tote bags to go to a local independent flour mill. I get $500 a ton.
I look forward to bringing these old things back to life.

My dad had a couple of those hooked together in series. Talk about doing a nice job cleaning seed grain, and they would output a ton an hour as well.
 
Wow! Nice machine. I"m going to be looking for a smaller fanning mill in Ontario this winter to refurbish and bring down to my farm in Nova Scotia in the spring. There are probably lots of them languishing in old barns, just gotta find one!
