Having a problem tightening left track on my classic 450 crawler/loader (which I"ve only had for a year). Left track came off on a 45 degree slope and it was a real bear to get back on. Real learning experience. Right track adjusted fine. Left track is leaking grease out of adjuster fitting (below the large nut and below the zerk. Adjuster fitting is loose and rotates but I can"t seem to tighten it or get it out. Is this a push in fitting or screw fitting? I see case manual says its a D35287. Help!!

Looks like it may have a bad seal or broken you need to remove the adjuster for repair. After its repaired you drive ther tractor forward and let it coast to stop, do not touch brakes. Now lay a long straight edge across the track between the front front roller and the next roller on the front top of track. Used a hand grease gun to pump adjuster up using the zerk fitting on adjuster. Measure the distance between the straight edge and the top of grosser in the center of the two rollers. It should 1 inch for sandy or hard soil and 1 1/2 inches for muddy soil. The difference it so that the track can throw the mud out. Tracks that are too tight will catch the edge of the front roller and climb right off. Being loose they fall back into place.
