Does anyone know how to adjust eMail settings to block out
messages in another language?
I'm getting about 30 messages each day in a foreign language I
can't read, and most are spam or phishing.
Thanks, MikeS.

Since you don't say whose email service you are using, I can't give specific instructions.

Find your "filter", should be under junk mail handling, and raise the setting. If you set it to "exclusive" only emails from people in your contact list will get to your mail box.

Just get a free yahoo account, stuff automatically goes to spam (misses now and then) and you have a virus check. Sure the other free mail accounts do the same.....

Therein lies part of the problem. The eMail client is hosted by the company I use for my website. The service handles all the stuff for the storefront, and I have complained to them, with no results so far. I get a fair amount of legitimate eMails through the website; people inquiring about carbs, mags, parts, etc. Those eMails are in english, so I don't want to close that part down, and lose that business.
Also, if I go to another eMail service, such as Yahoo, then I have to go backward with everyone and every company I've dealt with for the past ten years and change my email address. Uggggggh!

Next step - You still should have a junk mail handling feature. Look for the block email tab. As you get these emails, add them to your blocked list. You can block the specific email address, but more efficient is to block the domain name which is what comes after the @ symbol. Since the country is part of the domain name, it should help cut down on the foreign spam. You will need to be careful not to block domains containing the major email providers like Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.

Sometimes it almost impossible to get rid of these, as advertise your email online it opens you up to these junk emails. If you send them to your spam section it will only stop that particular email. These guys know that and change their email at every mailing. I get a lot of them and send them all to my spam folder but they just come back with a new address.
It's getting harder an harder to get rid of these guys. Sometimes you just have to grin an bear it.
Your email provider will sort out a lot of them but some will always get though. It just part of doing business on the Web.
