corn picker

I posted these pics on the case forum this morning, but thought some people on here that don't frequent the case part might like them. This is a picker that I found that is the same as the one my dad had when I was very young. He did a lot of acres with his, both foe us and custom work. Tried to run it a bit but had some breakdowns. Will try again on wed. If it works I will post some pics and video of it in action.

Neat! Don't know that I've seen a Case setup, around here most mounted were IHC, most pull-type were New Idea. Few Oliver and MM thrown in.

Nice pictures. In the middle picture looks like another picker in front of a wagon. A pull picker? If so what kind and any pictures of that one? Is the Case picker mounted on a Case 400 Diesel? Thanks for the pictures and information. Armand

jon f mn,

Neat photos. Posting video would be neat.

Nice tractor and picker. Like the little flair box - we have one just like it. Every year my husband picked and cribbed corn with a 2 row JD pull type up until we began renting the land out about 8 years ago. (Usually shelled out 3 cribs all by himself - one was a round crib and required a lot of shoveling.) Wish I had more pics or video of it.

Nice pictures! I just got a copy of "150 Years of J.I. Case" by C.H. Wendel and was reading about corn pickers last night!

Sweet Feet, was yours the newer model 300 picker or the side elevator moder 200 from the 40's to early 50's?

Never seen a Case mounted picker, never even knew they made one. Also never seen a Moline mounted picker. All around was New Idea, Oliver, McCormick, John Deere and Allis with a Massey in the bunch and as many self propeled Masseys as mounted and a Moline uni picker.

The other picker is a NI superpicker. I will get some pics of it on Wed. hopefully. The tractor is a 400 diesel.

Leroy,

It was a newer pull-type and I am not sure of the model number. My husband may have cut it down from a 3 row to a 2 row. Will try to remember to ask him in the morning.

Newer would have been the 300 and it used the corn heads from the combines and could have either a 2 row wide or a 3 row either wide or narrow or possibly a 4 row narrow or as I also understand there was a ear corn only narrow 2 row chopper corn head that could also be put on. The older 200 picker would only be a couple of years newer than the F 20 tractor.
