I feel like I'm farming the insurance company. Zero moisture out there.

On the other hand, I've just dumped a whole bunch of cash into next year's crop too.......

Gonna try and get done by Saturday night so I can go worry 'bout somethin' else for a change. :>)

thats all a part of it,,unfortunatly,,myself and all the neighbors were out over the weekend planting, since we got a small shower.I planted oats but most of them were planting wheat. Noticed that not many of them planted their more marginal ground though. I guess i"ll find out wheather i gained anything by plowing under last springs mix of wheat ,oats and ryegrass instead of harvesting or grazing it off. ground looked better, and worked way easier ,but time will tell.Without rain we may have been better off in vegas.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN,, now we know how some wise good russians during STALINs' time felt runnin the collective farms..when common sense is shoved aside for the sake of rigid rules No GOOD CAN COME FROM IT ...........

Best wheat crop I ever raised was planted under totally adverse conditions.

Next year planting conditions were ideal and yield was 10 bushel per acre less.

Same here in Colorado. At least you have heavy soil that holds better than our sand. I had all of mine in grass for the government. When It came out, I left it alone. No income but it lets me sleep better at night.

Allen, looks like you have some ground cover that will hold what moisture you might get.The guy that bought my NE wheat farm in 2007 was going to no-til everything, but I have not heard how that worked out. Do you leave all your stubble on this years wheat ground, or disk it once?

Well at least you have plenty of room to turn that rig around, must be getting close to the cut off date, what is it for wheat out there ?

Always thought a press wheel drill would work significantly better than the end wheel drills everyone used in our area. So one of the first things I bought and like it as much as expected. Only drawback is need to do some tillage and handy to transport. Sow wheat with a 620 that has a hitch similar to the 6200. Factory 620 hitch is really flimsy.
