People posted the other day about farmers having tractor accidents and getting killed . What about this sceneario - Farmer Finds Human Body While Mowing - how would you like for it to happen to you ??? But just think nowdays it could , you just never know !!!!!

P.S. There were several accidents in which a farmer was killed in a farming / tractor roll over accident in our area lately . Here is the links to those on WBKO, too. Hope that they all come through.

A farmer just North of Peoria Il. ran a body through a 8 row cornhead last week while picking corn. Turned out to be a Peoria woman who had been missing for several days. She had been shot and dumped in the field. The world sure is a different place than it used to be.
 
Have a friend who used to farm on the side. Went out one after work one day to chisel plow on a piece of rented ground along a secondary road. Smelled an awful odor, looked back and he had pulled up a body from a shallow grave next to road.

Not at all what we expect to find when we leave the house in the morning, is it?
 
I know of two farmers that found bodies. One was a suicide victim hanging in a tree along a cornfield. The other was the body of an elderly man that I knew. He suffered from alzheimers and diabetes and had wandered of. In both cases the bodies had been there a few months before being discovered.
 
The article says:
"The property owner said all he saw was a foot after the mower ran over the body in tall grass on Sunday afternoon."

I guess the farmer figured something was afoot?
 
Frequent poster here, Tom from Henderson, just posted a pic on another site of his combine, he got rear-ended by a car on the tar road.

Nearby a couple weeks ago a fella was hooking up wagons and got crushed between them, was airlifted away.

Was helping someone pick ear corn, I was pulling the rope to unhook the wagon, the helper walked up to the cab door, I almost ran him over, wasn't expecting that, not looking that direction. Never walk up to a tractor without eye contact with the driver.... Nothing happened, but - man, so much to watch out for.

I find it interesting to read the other articles listed in the papers. Like the one about a guy who impregnated his GF's 11 year old daughter. While reading it, a pop-up ad appeared.......for EPT!.
 
That guy was actually in British Columbia. Although, I think the Pacific Northwest is the nations leader in serial killers and Washington may be in the lead.
 
Nieghbor experienced same thing 15-20 years ago. Supposed prostitutes body was dumped in his field. Said they treated him like the suspect. Even though she was a known lady of the night, and habitual drug user, and well known by the police force in the city.

Pete, I think you are probably thinking of Doug in Illinois. His handle is close to mine. I thought I read he had some heath issues awhile back.

Well a few years ago I came close to witnessing the opposite end of life. I was on the first time around mowing a field when I got to the far corner which is not far from a house, there was a blanket laid out in the corner. I stopped to pick it up and it was recently put there as it was clean and still holding up the grass on the edges.
 
We're the unsolved murder capital up here in the Northwoods, folks get murdered in Chicago or Milwaukee and they haul the bodies up here and dump them in the woods, might be years before the body is found. Well that's the line from the Sheriff he never explains why the local person went from here to Chicago to get murdered
 
We Had a friend here in central Illinois who was out in a field disking a few years back and instead of shutting the tractor off befor working on it he let it run. He went back to pull some debris out of the dish and the tractor slipped into gear and drug him several hundred feet under the disk unit. He was mangled beyond belief. Larry was a good man and dear friend.
 
There was a body of a guy found Northeast of Town in a Wooded area by a buddy of mine a few years back. Also a few years ago the body of a teen girl was found in a ditch about a half mile down the road from my place. Both bodies had been at there location for years, they had to use dental records to identify them.

That's strange. The name of the farmer (in my post further down) that pulled up the body with the chisel plow is named Crouch. Different part of the world, though.
 
One of us is going to have to stop all of this tom foolery, I will be the one to dig my heels in.
 
Oops, I see you had used the word heel already, but in a different context.

Clearly I am dancing around all of these puns, if you were to see me live, you would think I had two left feet.

I am glad your back. No sure why, but I heard the investigators called for a toe-truck to move the remains.

The investigators are retracing his steps to see why he was in the field.

Did he have one foot in the grave?

Clearly he wasnt on his toes or he would have stepped out of the way of the tractor.
