Hydraulic cylinder cups...........

Does anyone know an aftermarket source for leather (or something else) cups for inside the lift cylinders on the loader on my H Farmall?

It's a #33A loader from approximately the 1960's. The #33 had a trip bucket, and the #33A, like mine, a hydraulic tilt bucket, but the lift cylinders should be the same. My H has had the hydraulics plumbed for the two lever control.

Last time I needed some, maybe 6 or 8 years ago, I went to our local Case-IH dealer. The scene started out with a young kid behind the parts counter claiming there was no way an H could have a #33A loader. An older fellow overheard the conversation, dug into a box of microfiche, and pulled it right up.

Friday, I went to the same dealer. Whole different crew behind the parts counter, and a fellow old enough to have gray hair swore he'd never heard of a #33 or #33A loader and wasn't sure if IH ever made one. End of conversation.

In Surplus Center's catalog, they have new cylinders for about $100 each that appear like they would replace mine, but why spend the money if I can find a source of the cups.

I get leathers for cycls at my local well pump dealer. What is the dia of your cycls and i can probably get them for you or they can be made from some new leather as i can ge thtat also. I make the leathers for the exhaust lift cycls and theres no reason yours couldnt be made also.

You might check with the folks at Central Supply and Rubber for your repair needs. I had very good luck with them in getting a kit to repair the cylinder on a old Mid West bolster hoist. Their web site is www.centralsupplyandrubber.com or the number is 1 800 444 8666. They are located in Omaha , Neb. Good luck finding what you need.

I forgot about Baum. From their online catalog, it looks like I should be able to get what I need.

Thanks for the responses.

Goose, do you want prof for the guy that thought they never made a 33A loader. Looking at manual right now showing mounting on a Farmall H or SH. If you would want one of the manuals just pay postage and I will send you one. I have 4 and no loader or tractor to put one on. Unfortunatly it does not have a parts list breakdown. Date on them is 9-16-60.

2 years ago, I got some from an old, since the
1920's, IH dealer..still stocks old parts, and
has several 60 year old parts people, who are
teaching the young ones right.
Lots of places to get them, most will be solid,
but have a center point, drill center hole to
the size you need.
