i recently purchased a jd 301 lime spreader it appears to have a adjustable sheave to control the speed of the material slinger is this correct.

That's right. The lever on the drawbar adjusts the amount of materials. We have one in the yard for sale for $350.00.

i am talking about the sheave under the body of the spreader that runs the v-belt the more narrow you adjust the sheave the faster it makes the slinger run throwing the material out in a larger circumference.at least thats how i see it works.
