I was told these are cultivators for corn planted with a lister.

H or M cultivators?

Holy hay fields, Batman, that is some ancient iron! The items that are"cultivators for corn planted with a lister", for some reason just don't look right. I would like to them set up for use, just to see how they operate. Thanks for the photos. Very interesting.

We called the cultivators a monitor just what my grandad called them or their real name I dont know, we used them in milo that was planted with a lister, they worked well you could throw dirt to or away from the crop lots of adjustment there. The big steel wheels would run down the row to guide the rest of the machine.

OK, jdv, thanks for the explanation. That makes sense now, since, as you say, you could angle the discs to throw the dirt either way.

Are you referring to the last picture ?

These look like IH cultivators for a narrow front H (or M). The arm that goes across the middle is set that way to follow the narrow front.

I was go deviling corn and milo in the late 50's when I was 8 years old. Farmall H and 4 row IHC go devil.
