This is NOT a trick question, the answer is simple, it just sounds tricky:

If it takes a chicken and a half a day and a half to lay an egg and a half, how long would it take for three chickens to lay 3 eggs?????

John T (PS Ive posted this a few times before, but the math question below made me re post)

I remember one other time when you posted this. I have asked it of some people and had fun watching their reactions.

According to my dad, you got the question wrong. I always heard it- If a hen and a half lays an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long would it take a rooster setting on a sawdust pile to hatch out a 2 by 4?

Okay I'll bit:

If I add another one and a half chickens that would give me three chickens and I should get another egg and a half every day and a half.

Therefore a day and half to lay three eggs.

I say shot two of the chickens and then the other will get with the program. I bet that you get an egg a day per chicken. LMAO

I think farmerboy got ir right, because: Twice as many chickens (3) would lay twice as many eggs (3) in the same length of time (1.5 days).

Farmer got it right, twice as many (3) chickens can lay twice as many (3) eggs IN THE SAME TIME OF 1.5 DAYS
