There is a mountain lion season for hunting them in North Dakota, especially near the badlands. Got too many and were killing cattle. We have had them come right in town a few times.

That might be a bit of over kill for a wood chuck but yesterday a friend who has a game cam set up on my place got 2 pictures of an animal that, that rig might almost work for. He got 2 pictures of a mountain lion and that picture has been taken to Mo st. conservation for them to check out and see if they too think it is a lion

I know for a fact that my friend has a big cat roaming her place in N E Mo. as i have seen the track myself and one of her other friends saw it while cutting wood on the back side last fall. Just like here we got one that has been seen by many over a large range including out at the farm along with bears. And i am in N E Ohio. Our Kitty was seen in a small town to the east of me in broad day light in a alley behind houses , the woman that ran across it about peed her pants and was well shaken up over it .

And here i thought that the gun rack on my 806 was neat and handy. Never gave a moments thought about adding a BELT FED like a M60 i always figured that the Mini 14 was enough for varmets with a 30 round clip. If ya missed with the first ya 29 more to chase them to the hole with .

[Just the thing for the trespassers that think my alfalfa field is a short cut to their destination. Been fighting that for years now and with hunting season upon us it gets worse.

Gates and fences only make them mad and they get around or through and do some extra damage because I am so mean. There is two public roads that get to the public land, and they have to drive by them to get to my place. Go figure!!!

Mean? My idea of mean is an electric fence with a whopping charger.

James and I have started "landscaping" with large rocks to prevent someone from driving around the driveway gate. Kills two birds with one stone, gets the rocks out of places that cause us problems and blocks people from driving around the gate.

Got any large rocks or trees that have gone down?

Large rocks as in how big do you want??? I have a good number of them big enough that to move some the 950 cat loader on the place will only lift its back wheels off the ground not even trying to lift the rock much so rocks so big they can not be moved.
The goat pen has 2 rocks in it for them to play on that are a good 3 or so feet in diameter and those where not easy to move either
