All, I have discovered that I do not have the thermostat switch inline from the main wiring harness to the compressor. I have ordered it but where does it mount? or does it matter? Also is there a valve for the heater core to shut off the coolant coming through? Thanks for the help

the hot and cold temp. is in the roof -- same as the AC temp. 3 switches blower , heat , cold -- setting in the seat look up

Ok well all that is in order. I guess my only question now would be where do I mount the thermostat switch by the compressor?

I think you are talking about a 'thermal switch' this is a one-time fuse. it is located in the compressor clutch feed circuit--has a single pin sensor located in the back of a-6 compressor. it;s purpose is to blow if refrig system temp is too high---many were done away with, no reset. better system is high-side sensor that resets automatic

On bolt(parts key #10) that goes through a hole in the rear compressor mounting bracket

What mounts on or near the compressor is a thermal limiter fuse connected to the compressor feed wire in the harness, the clutch coil and the super heat switch on the compressor rear.
The superheat switch closes on an AC problem and blows the limiter fuse. This prevents compressor operation until the problem is fixed and a new thermal limiter fuse is installed.

The link below has a wiring diagram for the three terminal thermal limiter fuse.
