Lou is that you in the picture? Did your trio make any records? I think its fascinating to find out the things people have done in there lives.

Can you please explain what you mean by 'vats of resin' and 'covered in diamonds'? Sounds intriguing, but did they taste any better?
Always interested in how potatoes can be served up. Myself, I prefer them raw, so my wife always makes sure I get a raw one before she cooks them.

We now know you were quite the musician, didnt know you were that well traveled. Looks like great place to eat and enjoy friends and music, thanks for post

Doug. The process he had (I got to see how the spuds were done)a room where the workers washed and dried large #1. After the spuds were dried they were placed in Two different HEATED vats (Large tongs, with fellows wearing Leather aprons and gloves)of resin different colors ,one vat was brown ,like violin rosin, the other was red color . After several minutes being turned, they(spuds) were removed and placed on a sheet of crystal salt, turned over and over till the potato looked like ruby with diamond covering. Split with a saw and placed on a plate with a great tasting steak, or shrimp served with melted butter or sour cream. I can say he (owner) did a huge business. I don"t think OSHA would allow that operation in todays world. I enjoyed my stay. LOU.

Showcrop: tHE BROWN looked the color of Violin bow resin, where he came by the ruby red resin he didn't say. Could have been model tractor. ( I didn't know they carved or poured models of tractors) I learned something new, Thanks.

Tony: Yep thats me( a whole lot younger)and the record we made was studio demo. was to busy to cut one and no sponsor like Columbia,Verve etc. I was on several studio records as supporting fellows making their own records. really not much time as was busy traveling.Did a concert with John Mehegan as a featured artist (with the trio). Some dealers concert for Wurlitzer Piano Company Not to mention the Silver Slipper in Vegas Lounge work. Opening act for Sammy Davis at the colored community center. Opening act for The Ink Spots. Always a second stringer, never a STAR. lol. Thanks for asking, Regards LOU.
