I've been looking for a few body parts for a vehicle, and several are listed in the province. I was down south today so I contacted a guy through email who had what I wanted. I asked him for his phone number so we could make arrangements for me to look at this thing. We had to email 13 times, to find out the condition, the price, what parts he has available, etc. I ask for his address which he gives me, and I tell him I'm heading out his way to look at this thing. He sends me Email #14 with his phone number, call me when you get close. I just don't get it, I could have called him and made arrangements in 2 mintues, but instead we play the email game. I don't mind initial contact through email but this is a pain in the as$.

I've got better things to do with my time than talk on the phone when someone else has time to call.... Email is convenient and doesn't distract anyone.

I know fully well what you mean.....email has its benefits but you can waste so much time......so often it seems to me like the telephone is a more advanced form of technology for quick communication than email, (and how many years has the phone been around?).

If someone can't take the time to talk to me a couple minutes I don't need what they have and it'll be a waste of effort about 90% of the time.
Pointed questions about an item over the phone where the seller doesn't have time to make up a bunch of BS will usally give me a good idea of whether the item is for me or not.
On ebay some sellers now won't even accept questions or any contact with potential buyers and thats their choice to make and my choice is to never bid on any of their items.

I responded to a Craigslist ad for a tractor over in Houston... 2 weeks later I send another email becaused he hadn't responded.... He finally emailed me and said he sold it 2 weeks earlier... He could have at least removed the ad.

Each has it's place. Some folks use Email because they are at work and are not supposed to be doing other things while on the clock. That way they can make that call when they are on break. Of course most folks that do something like that also carry a man purse! Just saying...

Sounds like your dealing with a kid who doesn't know how to talk.

Between the texting and emails kids can't have a conversation anymore.
