Suppose they're getn ready for some big 9/11 assemblage and want to clean the place up. Give the world some image of what they want to be rather than what its actually like.

Kinda like when nnalert was in Detroit Monday to make a Labor Day speech and somebody stole the U-Haul truck with the Secret Service equipment in it?

What will you be doing there ? Theres a bunch of guys out of local 580 IW hanging curtainwall on WTC 1 right now, I used to run a crew of 65+ of them at peak on a similar job, same MFR and system as WTC1.

Its a real pain in the @ss when they start clearing streets out, City of New York Dept of Transportation is ruthless about it too, they can and will revoke any permits you may have for doing things on the street, did it to me one time and I had to find a home for 40 yds of sand, at a moments notice, or pay a nice fine, was for the NYC marathon.

I was there both times when the WTC was struck, '93 '01 working close by and went to the memorial each year till '04, very somber atmosphere and people were uptight, but during the moment of silence, I've never heard the city ever that quiet except then, all the cars stop, people stood in the streets, I worked on a building 2 blocks north of the WTC site and all the workers emptied out to pay tribute during the moment of silence. Its a crazy place to work.

What happens to the vagrants, push them out into the middle class suburbia? or whatever is expedient at the time.

Thats a good question, Mayor Juliani, years back kinda got rid of the winshield squeegee-men hanging out at street corners, whom were cleaning them for a tip from the solicited motorist.

Over on the west side, there was an unused pier near 12th st or ave, the homeless had a village set up on the entire thing, some people getting ready to go somewhere in the mornings, lady I recall looking like she was headed to work, she had a dresser, no roof, but a dresser, dressed in business attire acting like any other person would in their home, except there was no home !

Juliani sent in DPW, with front end loaders, one day a village, the next a flat empty pier. There were at least 50 people in there, you drove by it every morning headed to work, I've seen similar under bridges in the area, shelters from left over bldg materials, tarps etc. People trying to survive hardship, others with substance abuse troubles or those whom lost a job or similar, its a crazy kind of place in some respects.
