I got a Short in my Ford 800 wiring system. I changed this system to a 12 volts system 2 years ago and everything has been fine . I started the tractor and it started smoking the wire from the key switch to the coil. I have replace the coil , point and condencer but it still burn the wires up as soon as I replace them.. Can anyone help with this problem.. Thanks

Very simple. If you have an ohm meter install a new wire but do not hook up the + cable of the battery, Then check to find where the short is since it has to have a short to ground. You can also try a hot wire from the battery to the coil and if that wire smokes the ground it from the coil forward and could be the insulator in the side of the distributor or the points you installed you did wrong but since you replaced them and other parts before trouble shooting hard to say

Old is correct. However the coil would need to be a dead short to ground to cause that issue if the distributor wire was shorted at the pass through stud. The resistance of the coil should be sufficient to prevent smoke.
Fords often use a resistor wire from the key to the coil. If the solenoid ignition bypass is shorted (going to the starter) it can and will smoke the resistor wire (often they are pink in color (no guarantees on that color))
Remove all other wires on the non distributor side of the coil and try it. Jim
