What grease do you use?

What grease do you use to grease tractors and combines? Local tractor supply has a good deal going on Mystik JT-6 MP Grease, anyone use the stuff before? seem to be good?

I've been using it for years. Mine is the hi-temp one, don't think it's mp. Best grease I ever used. I grease the baler plunger arm every time I bale and it doesn't take as many shots as it used to. It really sticks in there.

Cenex ML 365 on the better machinery, I use Bomgaars or Harvest King lithium grease on the older machinery for the slow moving low load parts like pivots ect.

I like Mystic very well. I also use the high temp and the tub Wheel bearing grease. I use Mobile1 synthetic in my difficult bearings with great success. Jim

Schaefer 238. Expensive, but very good. 30 tubes in a case. Use 2 cases in three years, so I guess $3-4 dollars for a tube isn't really all that much when you spread it out over the whole year. It is some really sticky grease, so we think it sticks well on the bearings. Seems like we haven't had as much bearing trouble as we did before we started using it. Gotta warm the grease gun up if it gets cold though! Pumps pretty hard.

I have used the Mystik grease in the past and it is very good gun grease. However, now I use grease from my local MFA cooperative. It is called "Total Use Grease" and can be used in high temperature, extreme pressure and wheel bearing applications. I use it for everything but gearboxes and there I use John Deere Cornhead grease because it is a softer grade for that application. Mike

I like that red sticky stuff. Can't remember the name, but it really is sticky. Does very well displacing moisture and staying soft like grease should. It don't get hard and dried out like some of the black greases I have used.

I don't like the red stuff or a sticky grease.

I guess I am old school. I like a clean grease. I like to grase frequently and rain will wash off the excess. I like the stuff that is kind of a light amber in color and translucent, like old military grease. Wherever I go I check the tubes and if I find some I like I buy some.

I also like that grease. But, it got harder and harder to find. Thats why I went to the Pennzoil 707L grease.

Went and got a case of Schaeffer's 238 grease. Seems like dang good stuff, going to use it on everything buy wheel bearings.
THanks for all the info!

Lucas Red-n-Tacky. It is an EP (extreme pressure) grease. It is very comparable to the Case-IH labled EP grease.

The EZ lube hubs on my gooseneck trailer call for an EP grease, so to make sure I always have what the trailer needs, I just keep a supply of it and use it for everything.
