I should have

Things I should have done with the garden,I should have planted more onions,I have used up what we grew doing different canning recipes. I also should not have planted so much yellow summer squash. I should have made more of the cages out of the concrete reinforcing wire, the tomatoes caged did so much better, than the ones without cages. I should have sprayed the pumpkins to try to get rid of the powdery mildew, I know there are more things I should have done, just let me think some more!!

Over the years I have found you can never do enough when it comes to a garden. It is either lack of rain or to much rain or to many bugs or to many weeds etc etc etc. I too figured I had enough onions but have also run out and this is the time to plant more but what do you know you can not buy garden seed this time of year form the local places. Would like to plant lettuce and cabbage but do not have any seed to do so

Your e-mail is not open at least not on the classic side that I use but mine is always open. I did plant some radishes and beets and cauliflower about 2 weeks ago and the rain we got this week end sure did help. Today since for the last couple day of not being able to pick green beans due to the rust problem and them being wet I got 3 gallons of them. My arms got tired from having to reach up to pick them. My PVC pipe green house frame sure works well to hold up fence wire and the beans then grow up and over so you walk under the beans to pick them

Common Powdery mildew. Organic formula.

1 gallon water
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid
1 tablespoon vegetable oil.

We are all wiser in hindsight. Are we not.?

i gave up on planting corn and onions, corn i just don't have any luck with and onions i don't have the ability to work anymore. deer did a number on field peas and green beans with very little harvest from them. yellow squash has become our favorite veggie with tomatoes a close second. still getting both out of the garden. caged tomatoes with a lot of mulch is the way to grow them. i too use concrete wire for about 40 cages.
