Well been pretty much hurting all day, knees back legs and hands. Maybe just maybe we are in for some real bad/wet weather in the next few days. On a side note I shot 2 armadillos this evening and just walking out to do that was a pain as in if hurt just to walk around the yard. Oh well hope we get the rain they are saying we will and hope if is not to little to late because it sure would be nice to be able to do a 2nd cutting of hay

I saw some still trying to get 1st cutting a few weeks ago in my area. not very yummy looking stuff either.

Boy, I really feel for you guys in this drought. We're about to get our 4th cutting of alfalfa here in a couple of weeks

Try some magnesium supplements and drink a shot of vinegar 3 or 4 times a week.. See if that eases the aches a little.....

I guess you could,a friend of mine said he tried but it smelled so bad they gave up. Someone on the forum said they carried some sort of disease. I don't remember what they said it was.

(quoted from post at 03:02:15 08/29/12) can you eat an armadillo? we dont have them here in nj

The dish is called "possum on a half shell............"

Supposed to carry leprosy but don't know if it's the strain that gets to humans.......

I would pick the armadillo up with a shovel and not eat them. I have heard that they carry leprosy and would not want to find out if it is contagious.

Yep conservation says they have a gene that is of or for leprosy and I handle them as little as I can. Also if I do handle them I wash my hands as soon as I can.

Not getting any rain yet just the aches and pains that I have when rain or some other weather change is on it way. My lower back is killing me today

Im off of all anti-inflammatories pre-op for the knee scope.tomorrow. Fogot how much those little pills help out. Jim

Rich, obviously the doctor or medical professional is best to seek help from but if for some reason you have arthritis or a certain type, I do know that drinking plenty of water helps, at least with the arthritis I have. Doctor says its a reality for me at this age and I know you have 10 years or better on me, I try not to think about what the doc says is going on, kind of deny it, never use it for a crutch, really hard to believe sometimes but there are days or brief periods of time, where its debilitating, (have it in the ankles, one was cleaned out during surgery, other still untouched)

I have found that getting enough water eliminates the worst of it, most of the time, but still have to research or learn more about what I can do to combat it. I am still in disbelief that the mass the doctor surgically removed from the top of my foot and the degenerated bone matter he literally scooped out is a direct result of arthritis, and that I really can't take a chance with it, working at the farm dealing with thoroughbred horses, getting stepped on, or having it give out while one is on the lead shank. Very likely I'm done in that capacity and headed back into my career, well at least the pay is much higher and the hard labor is not required LOL !

Maybe just the weather, but if more persistent but I'll bet where you come from there's some "old" (no pun intended LOL) school remedies or medicine out there to help, besides or in addition to modern medicine. Hopefully just the weather but man there are times when it can just stop you in your tracks, really something to fear and try figure out how to minimize as age creeps up. Reason I chimed in was like so many others, arthritis sure hits home nowadays.

Slip a little vinegar in once or twice a day, like 8 ounces or so a day. I,m in my 40s and have the joints of a 90 year old due to osteoarthritis and according to my rheumotologist, I should be in a wheelchair. Most mornings I have to crawl out of the bedroom, just to go the bathroom. Doc wants me on disability too, but I couldnt stand to live with myself like that, knowing theres someone else who could use it more than me. My wife bless her heart tolerates me the best she can, and my kids have gotten use to me moaning and groaning ever time I move, they think its normal! Oldest boy will sit there and cry sometimes because he knows Im hurting so bad. Almost lost my marriage because I could no longer function, at least go through the motions of satisfying my wife, if you get my drift. Believe it or not, the vinegar does help!!!!!

Thats what I mean, I realize everyone has the aches and pains, most strong hearted, mentally disciplined fight it off, and work around it, but what you mention goes way beyond that. Its like what the heck can you do when it causes this level of pain or lack of mobility. When off work, I usually did not have health benefits, now I can't take that chance and its out of pocket, if I did not get the foot repaired, and the other surgery on my leg, seemingly fine or better now, I'm really not sure what I'd do if it escalated. When I hear about people ailing from it so much worse than I, its really hard to imagine, how in heck does an active person deal with it, sure can put you on the bench when you want like heck to play LOL !!! I will definitely slip some vinegar in and see, whats best white or other ? I have heard apple cider vinegar or the like has some benefits too.

Sorry for not responding sooner. Got tied up @ work and was hobling around when I got home. I have used both, but the ACV is much easier to take/swallow for me. I mix it with a little tomatoe juice, much, much easier, and hardly notice the taste.
