Talked with my mother in law here in Highland, IL. 30 miles East of St. Louis Mo., and she rents her farm out on 3rds. The corn made 30 bushel to the acre. The farmer told her that the outside of the fields were good but the center part there was very little. How"s everyone else"s corn crop out there???

In my part of NWIA it's all the way from 4 to 40 to 200, depending on what side of the fence you live on.The soil type has a big part in it oo. I have a 60 acre field I call the 'Florida swampland' that has the ear size and population to do 200 but I know it will weigh light so I'm guessing 170? A half mile away there's a sandy 80 that won't do 50 by the way it looks from the air. Here on the home farm it will be all the way from 0 to 200 but I'm guessing 120. It's just so up and down across the field it's hard to tell till the combine rolls through it. I do feel real fortunate for what I do have. Jim

Friend of mine reports that yesterday at the IA Farm Progress Show, Ames area-I think, that they harvested 80 day corn, 120 bu, 60 TW @ 14%.
