I have a mule diesel that has a bad engine and from my research it sounds that these were not a very good engine.Has anyone else had issues with these? I'm looking to repower it or find someone who has a used engine.Does the gas engine bolt right in?

Not sure about another engine bolt in, but, what is the problem????. Mine broke a crankshaft, took it to the dealer and he told me that mine fell into a group of them that had bad crankshafts and Kawasaki paid for all of the parts and about 80% of the labor to fix it.(it was yeasr out of warranty) I also understand that the newer engnes are better, but I met someone at a show that had 6000 hours on his diesel with no problems.

Yeah this one is 10 years old now so i"m sure they wont warranty it but it also had a broken crankshaft. I bought it that way, It kinda looks like it hadnt had the oil changed and it was abused. But the parts are really expensive for it. To rebuild it i"m looking at over $1500

I'd definitely give trying to get some warranty a shot. You have nothing to lose. Companies would rather pay a small bill like that than pay a big one for a lawsuit.
