Anybody still use the stuff. Most of the stations in Texas have stopped selling it.

It is my understanding that all our diesel is now going to be 2% bio diesel. Winter will be coming up and we will see how it flows.

With the price of soybeans this year. Bio diesel will follow the way out with corn based ethanol.

Naw. It's made from cooking oil that McDonalds (surely) and others use to fry potatoes, or chickens, or fish. I have my own cooker and have been stockpiling it for a year. One of these days an oil processor will come by and pick it all up to recycle when he picks up my used crankcase oil.

If you ever transplant yourself from your northern environment, come down Interstate 35E South of Waxahachie, TX. which is So. of Dallas, TX. and you will come to Carl's Corner. Stop by and enjoy a Texas beverage and listen to a little Willie along with the OTR truckers that use the stuff, like he uses in his tour bus...he has a filling station to accommodate you.

I have a '02 Duramax, in northern minn. Bemidji ALL station have a mix of 5% to 15% bio. Three years ago, when they started this, I gel'd up twice on a 50/50 blend, you could not get into a station or shop to have a truck's filter changed, NAPA couldn't get filters fast enough. Loggers were pretty much shut down, temp was -15, when it got cold it was worse. When it gets to 0, I switch truck tractor skidloader to #1, it's cheaper than changing filters in the cold and dark, when ya can't feel your fingers. Probably better whwere it's warm.

I use it in the summer. It seems to run just a little better. Not enough to pay any extra for it. It usually is a little cheaper when I can find it.

I would not run it in the winter. It seems to really jell up bad.

There is almost as much risk as there is benefit from using it. Not enough demand to ensure quaility in most cases. I would not feel comfortable using it in modern diesels with piezo electric injectors and newer pumps.

older mechanical pumps are pretty much bullet proof.
