Insurnace companies love to hate them

Well on his way back home last night from work the boy hit a deer with the car. Sure glad it was the car not the motorcycle which he rides most of the time. Any how we have uninsured deer on the cars etc so I spent the last few hours on the phone with the insurance company. They are going to tow the car away just to appraise the repair cost and since it is an older car I know it will be a total so not we are down one car and the car rental place has no cars for us till next week oh well if it isn't one thing it is another

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, it seems to always be something happening. I don't know what state you are in, and I know insurance laws vary from state to state, BUT, if the car is driveable, and you might find parts to fix it, in North Carolina if the insurance totals a vehicle, you can keep the vehicle, and they deduct salvage value from what they pay you for the vehicle. My daughter's boyfriend wrecked her car about three years ago, he rounded a curve and there were about four deer in the road, he swerved to miss them and took down a mailbox that was on a concrete post, and jumped a ditch. Insurance totaled it, she kept the car and they deducted the salvage value from what they paid her, a friend who runs a body shop patched it up and they are still driving it. Like I said, I don't know how things work in your state, but it may be something to check out, and good luck, sounds like you could use a little.

You have the most unusual animal problems I've ever seen. I never knew of anything but a car or truck to ever kill an armadillo. You emptied a clip at the world's fastest possum, even tho he was just trying to eat the bugs infesting the garden the deer you did not shoot are eating 2 rows at a time. Now this deer cost you a car. Good thing you don't live in beaver bear and moose country...

Beaver yes and yes we have trapped them at times and one almost killed a dog I had. As for opossum I do not ever recall saying I emptied a clip on one. I did empty a clip trying to shoot a running wood chuck but have you ever seen how fast they run.

Found out a bit more on it and found they plan to total it so that is why they where going to tow it away and I said heck I want to keep it since I can still drive it plus I have another Toyota Corolla that if nothing else I can use the parts from this wrecked one on it. So yep got things changed and now have to take it to a body shop tomorrow to have pictures taken and get an estimate on cost to fix. By the way I am in Missouri where the deer the coons the wood chucks and opossum and many other animals seem to make life more entertaining

Same here in Nebraska. Our daughter hit a deer and totaled a car. The insurance company paid off and let me keep the car for $500, deducted from the payoff.

I fixed the car, then totaled it again myself in a 6 car pileup on the Interstate. Fixed it again.

I sold the car last spring and by that time it had been totaled three times and still had a clean title.

For the record, I didn't try to hide anything. I told the fellow who bought it the entire story. He was looking for a work car for his wife and I'd driven it several thousand miles since the last fix with no problems, so he wasn't too concerned.

BTDT on the deer-car thing. Daughter hit one and totaled a car. She wanted to know if she could have the deer mounted. I hate having the things around. It was so nice in younger days not to have deer.

Just be glad he wasn't on the cycle. My son killed a deer with his motorcycle a year ago. He somehow kept control and got stopped but it did a number on the bike and he had a sore leg for awhile. He didn't tell me about it for awhile cause we've already been through the he!! of losing our daughter. His wife freaked out when he told her and I haven't seen the bike anywhere on the farm so I have a feeling she layed down the law and told him it had to go. It's only a slight inconvenience losing a car for awhile.Jim

Well since I reload many sizes of bullets yes I know how fast they fly. How fast a bullet flies does not matter when your trying to hit a a moving target that is the size of a coon or opossum or A wood chuck and sights do not matter on a shot gun if with in the limits of the gun. Before you say something like you did prove to me you can do better. By the way last time I shot skeet I hit 19 out of 25 and that was the first time I had ever shoot skeet and also the last time

ep deer are getting the hay the wood chuck is getting the garden stuff as in tomato's and pumpkins etc. The coons and opossum are getting the cat food and the armadillos are digging up the lawn and up rooting the garden plants and up rooting the plants is even worse then stealing the fruit

Not your problem. Allow "the boy" fix his own mistakes. Or he will always be the boy. Isn't he about 30?

Yes I do get touchy since there is a number of people who can only raise cain with me on stuff and most of those are on my flag list as in I will never help them again

Settle down a lttle, it was only mirth.Nothing serious.I was just tickling your tummy because I knew you couldn't let it pass.

But when I think back I do get a laugh out of "WILMAAAAA". the locked door and you on the wrong side. LOL. all good fun.
