Below in the discusion about obsessed mowers someone posted a link about co2 emissions that sounded suspicious to me. After all I do burn gas in my tractor. So I did some research, the world uses 30 billion barrels of crude per year, it breaks down to about 6-8 barrels/ton depending on density. So that means we use about 4.28 bil tons/year. The world uses about 4.55 billion tons/year of coal.
So my question would be, how does 8.83 bil tons of fossil fuels creat 24 billion tons of co2? And that doesn't take into account that about half is never burned because it is used for other uses such as plastic, lubrication, paint, ect. Of course I'm just a dumb truck driver and don't know how these things work.
