Farmall 450 12 gen. to 12 alt.

Has anyone converted a Farmall 450 from a 12 gen. system to a 12 volt alternator system?

I did one a few years back. Used the smallest Chev 10si I could find and got it to fit well under the hood

Some have used some foreign alternators, smaller, aslo adaptable to tractor. Talk to a good alternator shop.

The Delco 10SI alt fits but is not too adjustable. I like a Hitachi.
Hitachi 14231. Is the Model Number. "L" on the Hitachi is the same as #1 on the Delco 10SI. "S" on the Hitaci is the same as #2 on the Delco. Use the diode for the L wire with the band toward the alternator. It is an international tractor to me the origin of the best fit part makes no difference.
