200 tons....finally done!!!!!

Looks like y'all did a good job "shoring up" your creek bed.

Sure makes the job go quicker when you got someone <s>doing all</s> helping with the work while you take pictures.

As hot as its been, probably tempted to go wading or maybe swimming in that cool water.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us.

Don't know about your situation, but here in PA if you did that without a permit you'd be looking at fines well into 5 figures. Neighbor cleared brush from a fence row that was within 100 feet of a river and got hit with a $10000 fine. Your tax dollars at work.

Looks like a good start. Around here rip rap won't stop the erosion, just slows it down. Need to put little rocks in and around the big stuff. Big stuff holds the little stuff which holds/slows the water.
Sandy soil just plain moves when it rains.

chain link fence or gabion baskets would stay in place. A heavy flood will wash that stone away. The trees will actually hold the bank best of all. Good luck with it. Seems like a flood always ends a drought, so somebody is due.

Didn't know you were going to do mechanization (outside of the worn out elevator) - I was afraid that I would be ball and chained to a 200 Ton piece of limestone with a 12 pound mall for the weekend!

Looks like SWMBO did a good job helping you. Did she have to pull you outa the creek, tow you home, release a trap or any of the other things you seem to get into?
Just wonderin

Yer phriend
kruser

PS: Was the Dottir taking all the time out to take pictures?

glennster's got gabion baskets planned for his wife next weekend - Must be their anniversary?

You should really try to get this deleted or poofed. It's prima facie evidence of the worst kind.

I have a friend that lives on the river. He is a contractor and has a lot of busted concrete and rubble at times. He just calls the environmental people and they look at the rubble. If they say it is ok he dumps it down the bank. If not he dumps it elsewhere.
