Tractor Trek - Pics

A very enjoyable trek in the Lockyer Valley over the weekend. Over 50 tractors joined in the yearly event and it really was a great time. Travelled over a huge variety of country in good company.
Sorry if there's too many photos.
Cheers,
Rex

Rex in Australia,

Beautiful countryside! What make is the orange tractor? I can't read the emblem on the front end.

So in Australia, do you have to buy license plates for all tractors? I have never seen a tractor with plates.

Glad you like the photos. It was a great couple of days.
The Orange Beast is a Chamberlain Champion 6G. Aussie made back in the 50s and 60s. Perkins L4 engine on that particular model, but had a top speed of around 30mph. That and the bench seat makes them very popular for treks etc.
Yes, they had to be registered. Is a limited use type of registration.
cheers,
rx

I see your very safety minded rotating amber lights are they required when driving? But your all driving on the wrong side of that road.

In the U S we drive on the right hand side of the road dateing from stage coach and frieght wagons and drivers wanting to use black snake whips to keep the horses and mule moving faster. If you cracked the whip on the left side it would be in the face of apposing trafic. This per my grandfather who was a dray wagon driver.

You folks better get on the right side of the road before someone gets hurt
At least the steering wheels are where they belong.... Please don't tell me that orange thing has the steering wheel offset to the right....

Nice pics.
Do you have to keep insurance and get routine safety inspections on the tractors with plates? Warning lights mandatory?

Wouldn't hurt to have AND ENFORCE those requirements in the States to include AMISH buggies.

Have heard same thought applies for mounting your horse from the left, and being able to draw your weapon ( sword most right handed).

Wife is heading to AU at the end of next month to see our new grandson. She's hoping that it will be a bit warmer by the time she gets there.

Doctors won't let me take that long flight to over there; too risky to my health.

(quoted from post at 07:00:53 08/13/12) I've always wanted to visit Austrailia! Maybe someday.

If you have flatrate internet and decent connection speeds, google (or youtube) something like "Australia Documentaries" Or """ ranching, etc...
May be surprised at what you find.... Next best thing to being there...

Just what we don't need. Too many folks got their nose in everyones business now.
MYOB is the political I would vote for...

Might just stop bubba from throwin a SMV triangle on a pile of junk and gettin a family (maybe even your own) wiped out.
If Bubba can't do the right thing on his own, then someone should tell him to and hold him responsible if he don't... Bubba is my name for Joe Public, myself included. Do the right thing and noone would have to get in your business....

US travel limited farm tractor, farm truck, farm car, farm ATV is totally relevant as to how far we get running out of fuel.

Not too many pictures. You said there were over fifty tractors. You should have a shot of each from the front, from the back, from each side, from the seat, looking back while on it,.......

The Lockyer Valley is in Queensland for the overseas folk, You may recall those devasting floods a couple of years ago. This was the area that suffered great damage and unfortunately loss of life.
Melbourne, way down south, relies a lot on the vegetables grown in this area.
Good to see the recovery.
