Couple of different corn fields. First field was planted on June 7th. Second field was planted on May 18th. Both crops are for silage, first pic , the field was planted after the hay was taken off May 30. We didn't get any rain to speak of in July, but we have sure got a good wash this last week. For a refrence point , thats me in the pic, and I am 6 foot tall. We will have to cut a few rounds off our grain corn to fill the silage pits this year me thinks. Bruce

I just went out and walked some silage corn to see if there was any water standing in the low spots. Couldn't believe my eyes. Had some with 2 good ears filling.

Those crops look real good!! You seem to have a pest problem though. It is a tall hairy thing in the pictures. I am not sure what it is. Maybe Big foot's little cousin??? LAMO

You have a good crop to make silage out of there. Many here in the lower 48 would love to have it. I have been blessed with fair rain fall so I will have enough for my feed needs but will not have much to sell.

Some of my corn. It should be my best corn this year. It is planter into soybean stubble. Plus the ground was covered with manure before tillage. I have a pest issue too but mine is not quite as wholly. LOL He is a good friend.

I only have about a half-acre food plot but based on the lack of rain I am very pleased with what I'm seeing. Some ears are small, but others are all filled out and splitting the husk. Some in the dent stage. Beagle pups love to run in it and deer tracks are numerous. The pups don't pay any attention to them.

I walked into one of our fields today, it was planted after 1st crop on June 8th. I'd say it was over 7 ft., maybe 8 ft where I was. I've seen much taller for late season corn, but it still ain't too bad.

Our corn won't be over the top of our chopper box this year tho like it was last year... We're still feeding last years corn silage and haylage, which is a life saver this year. We're expecting a good 4th crop, which we'll cut in about 2 weeks after I'm back from a camping trip with my brothers.

In the mean time I'm working on the new chopper that we bought, and I'm hoping to have it ready for this years corn. If not I'll be praying our Fox will make it through the season without a major break down.
