On this day....

They had a big presence in the "big" city here- the Cayuga county seat- Auburn NY, where Osborne is one of many prominent old names. Wasn't that name on a reaper, or binder?
I just read a little local history book of Auburn stories. Back in the day there were lots of terrible fires. One was the IH twine plant.
Some years ago I resurrected a couple of sections of a derelict spring tooth harrow for garden use. A dear old (WWII vet, now departed) friend saw it and remarked, "I used to assemble them at the factory" ! He recognized it immediately! There was no sign of ID on it, and not a speck of paint!

I remember when they were bought out by Case. Our local dealer heard about it on the news and had to call the corporate office to have that verified.

Well DeltaRed we have done are part keeping it alive. I have a 1949 Supper A, 49 C, and a 49 KB2 pickup. Newest IH tractor is a 1956 Farmall 400. Others in between.
