This time there should be one picture and not an entire album.

Can you identify this tool? It has two wooden pieces with notches and pegs that line up. The notches and pegs are in increasing sizes. Also there are large metal staples inserted in the notches and pegs. It appears that something is pressed between the two halves and the wooden piece pulled. But I have no idea and neither did the guy who was showing it. Any ideas.

My thinking is that it is to make louvers in aluminum sheets or strips passed through and squished in a press. Jim

I don't know what it's original purpose is/was, but a local taxidermist uses
one very similar to that to stretch pelts.

The first ever 5-bank double pole - double throw switch. The idea has been refined into modern - day light switches.

Some sort of strand separator for weaving? Looks like you would be able to throw a shuttle through the lift. Otherwise, have no idea.

appears to be a sizer for braided rope, either grass or rawhide.braid your rope, pull it through the holes of correct size to make it round and uniform. sometimes we would braid a rope or line with a inner core them braid succesive layers around it.a tool like this would make the outer braid lay flat and avoid twists that would make weak spots.that one was probably used in a old foot vise like cobblers,or leather workers use. steeples and the notches helped strenghten it,because you often would have to pull pretty hard. we didnt braid a lot of rope, mainly repaired it,but we had a hole in a fence post we would pull it through.
