Massey 2745

I would like to get an idea on the value of an early model Massey 2745 tractor in fair condition in Alberta, with app 7000 hrs on it.

Well if I was having to buy it and had to keep it to use then the value would be just about ZERO!!!! Those MF 2745 where a mechanic's companion tractor. The V-8 Perkins motor was not a good one and the transmissions/rear ends where known to give troubles.

I know where there are two of them here in Iowa that are one owners ones with less than 4000 hours on them. Either one of them can be bought for $6500 or less.

So yours in Alberta with over 7000 hours would be worth way less. Even if it was real cheap I would not buy it. You can drop 10-12k in repairs in a heart beat in the transmission in them. They are selling cheap for a reason.

5000 to 6000 tops. The V-8 Perkins main issue was hydraulic oil or diesel fuel puddling in the engine valley and igniting causing a major fire. Some of the rear ends had major problems in the early days. If it has a metal fuel tank (painted red) or has the amber indicator lights on the dash, I'd run away as fast as you can. There are some that are very desirable, but you need to know where to look to see if the service bulletins were completed.
