On-line service manuals

I have never heard of on-line service manuals for tractors and was wondering if there was anything out there. I know they have it for cars and trucks and some engines but I have never seen or heard of for tractors. I guess what I am looking for is an online IT manual that would even cover the new tractors. If not maybe someone should start one. Just wondering.

Good question for a lawyer. I've often wondered about that myself, and even considered building a site for such a thing.

I'm all for people making money - but for antique tractor manuals, seems the world would be a better place to capitalize on the power of the internet and have it all readily accessible in the public domain.

I imagine it's the copyright issue that's the main concern.

But I always thought there was some kind of expiration limit - after which it becomes public domain. No? Any copyright lawyers out there?

I thought for music it was something like 70 years - or maybe so many years after the artists death. ? I would Imagine there's something similar that applies to printed documents.

Just might be there already. I recently saw such advertised for outboard motors. You could get the manual shipped to you or you could sign up for a limited time online access for a lot less money.

I signed up for the online access and it works great.
