Saginaw PS pump..how did I screw this up?

Hi guys,

Well after trying to get the PS system bled on my C70.. I realized that if I revved it up with the high pressure line off..its trying to suck air in! not sure how I did this! I changed the seals in it since it was leaking but it did work fine.

Everything looked symmetrical when I reassembled it.

Maybe these pumps could have run CW or CCW and something was switched to make it run the other way?

You can get them to pump in either direction. You installed the inter plate 180 degrees from where it should have been. Take it back apart and you will see that the ports are off set just a little

Are you referring to either one of the end plates or the center ring the vanes ride in? Thanks for your help

The center ring the vanes ride in. Roosa Master injection pumps have a similar fuel pump on the back side. I learned the hard way to write down the rotation settings when I take them apart.

If you look real close you can tell the way they pump. The cage the vanes are contained by can go in either way but the off set is to the left or right. It is that way so for different applications you can change the pump rotation to match your drive.

Its fixed, had the ring in upside down. Thanks again.
