Way O/T - What is a Blue Headed Quail ?

My wife is reading a book "Wildflowers Across America" and in that book the author says they were on a ranch near Alpine TX and saw a lot of covies of Blue Headed Quail.

I've never heard of these much less seen them, what are they ?
