I would like to change the transmission fluid in my camper. It is a 02 V 10 Ford, F 450. It takes Mercon V. Ford wants 8.00 a qt, Orielly Has valvoline, and wants 6.00 qt. Wallmat has their brand Supertech at 4.27. Any thoughts on what oil will be ok. Who makes Wallmart oil. I doubt it's China like everything else.Stan

I have no idea who makes Walmart oils Stan. Wish I did!
I use it in my lawn mowers and in some of my old tractors.
That transmission sounds like an expensive thing to take a chance on though.
Hopefully someone can tell us who makes it!

Warren Distribution bottles it, along with some of the oils, for Walmart, and they get it from various sources, mainly whoever they can get it from the cheapest.

You don't say how many qts. you need but it will take a lot of $2 bills to repair that transmission if you are wrong, just my thoughts.

It it's got the Mercon® V on the label, no matter who the manufacturer is, it meets Ford specs.

Ford sells (diesel)motor oil and a few other Ford brand items through outlets other than dealers, for example I can get motor oil in the Ford bottle from SOME WMs, though not all. Might be worthwhile to see if you can get Ford Mercron V at WM as well. Might want to check their online store, see if they carry it (can order online and deliver to your store , about a week.)

Just trying to be helpful. Ralph in OK.

I've been using Valvoline I got at Fleet Farm. Think I 'd look and see what brand name TSC or Wal-Mart might have. The Super Tech is probably okay and I've used it in older stuff I wasn't to concerned about but it in my warped mind it seems risky to go with a store brand especially from a store like Wal-Mart. Yes I know the Mobil, Valvoline, Castrol or Shell is probably bottled in the same plant as some of the Super-Tech but I dn't like to think about it.

I have used Valvoline MerconV with a ford factory fill and have not had any problems. I tried using Citgo one time and the two oils did not agree with each other and it turned to a gell inside the transmission.
