Hang in there guys. I was imprisoned at Enid, OK (Vance AFB) June 1974 to December 1981. I clearly recall the summer of 1980 when they had 90 days of 90 plus of which 30 days were 100 plus. Hottest day was 117.

Hi gitrib, we live about 16 miles straight south of Cushing. We get to your town once in a while. If I knew which home you are at , I mite be able to stop and visit you , If you would like that. I am a retired farmer from the upper midwest, we landed here a few yrs ago . Like it other than the fire danger. clint

The wife & I have some things packed in the truck & car now , very worried about the wild fire that is about 25 miles west of us now. A wind shift prob would do us in. It started south of Luther ,Ok. spread thru that town & moved north and east. Reports said at times it burned 80 rods in 10 min. Wind up to 25 - 30 MPH. Humidity about 11% , temps this afternoon in the 113* range. 25 houses were reported burned there.
Interestat 44/ Turner turnpike was shut down about supper time, as was Rt. 66, due to smoke.
The fire crossed I 44.
Just stepped outside , I 44 must be open , can hear trucks running on it now. Our temp at midnite is 93* now. Keeping our fingers crossed .About ready for bed , going to sleep ' litely'. clint

Burnban here since Monday in Greer County, Gitrib. Had a farm fire yesterday, 2 barns gone, home saved, grain bins, too, but damage to another building, outside equipment. But nothing like the fires around Stillwater and OKC.....
Glad to hear from you! All well after your ordeal/surgery???
