I need a new rain guage

This one's full. Seriously though,I think the problem's the radar estimated precipitation. Had a storm come through over night, pretty widespread from the look of the time lapse radar. It rained for at least an hour and a half, could be more,I went back to sleep. Radar estimate was as uniform as I've ever seen it,they said 1.1 average area wide.
I practically skipped to the rain guage expecting to see an inch from one event for the first time since June first. All I heard in my mind was WANT-WANT-WAH!. Less than four tenths. Oh well,it's rain. But of course I cut a bunch of hay yesterday. Guess it didn't amount to more than a heavy dew.

I got six tenths over here last night. Still dark to the Southwest. Cut some more hay down please, I don't have any to cut, because it didn't grow back.

Well at least your getting rain. We had another one of those 6 inch rains yesterday. 6 inches between the drops for 2 or 3 minutes. Just enough rain to say we got some if and only if you where out side to see that is did rain which I just so happened to be

We got an inch last Thursday evening- they cancelled the fireworks at the farm fair. That pi$$ed off all the citidiots- but it started storming around 9PM and there was some nasty lightning, so we closed the fair early. They've been calling for t-storms ever since, and 50% this afternoon. But these pop up showers have saved our corn this year. It's looking better all the time. My barn is already full from first cutting.

i do too, this one hasnt caught a drop since i put it out, i keep the dust dumped out though.so far ive had two inches of dust since may. does anyone know if you have to prime these things to get them started?

If you had the same wind we did up here near Traverse City, it might not have made it into the guage, it was raining sideways.

We had big winds before the rain started, then it settled down and rained pretty good. I'm thankful for it,just don't know why I keep getting the least of anybody around.
Don't suppose it's because it says Pioneer Seed on the side of it do you?

Cut the neighbors hay yesterday thinking that would bring on a rain. All we got here in central MO was one of those 6 inchers, twice. You can't fool mother nature, she just laughed in my face, lol.

We had an inch at the house this morning when i got home went up the road 1 mile to one of my fields had 2 inches there it was all gone by this afternoon
