| | We're sometimes blessed in this area- I'm a few miles west of Larry- because we sometimes get a backflow from the Atlantic that can give us a few days of rain or fog, of a nor'easter which is a front that comes from the south and veers of of Cape Hatteras and gives us a big dose of Atlantic moisture, but not usually when we really need it. They're often hurricanes or blizzards. But if they don't die coming over the mountains in the downdraft, we can get a lot of hit and miss storms in the summer. Last year we were as dry as the devil's dog's bone; this year we are getting some welcome thunderstorms. La Nina years can be very dry- El Nino years are usually moist. |

| We"ve been enjoying sweet corn for a couple days. Wife cut up 25# of cabbage for sauerkraut (heads had started to split). Zuchini and summer squash have made it to our table, as well as a few cherry tomatoes. I"M GONNA GAIN THAT TEN POUNDS I LOST BACK. |

| I see that old F series ford truck, looks like an 850, but that would be a tandem, its a single axle if I recall, heavier chassis, love those old fords, especially with that style nose. |
