OT—The Germans make mowing look cool.

love that little weed whacker attachment that wraps around the guard rail posts.

I need one of those.

That is cool stuff, but nothing that Americans could not design.
The county where my farm is located has a ditch cleaner similar to the one in the video at around the 2 minute location. They have gone crazy with it, they have ruined some of the well manicured and well draining ditches along our property frontage.
It is the double edged sword. They OWN the right of way so we cannot do anything about their stupidity. BUT, the ditches have always drained well with no issues at all. They dig them just to help justify having the equipment and make it appear that the crews are busy.
In places where it is not needed, it makes for a much more dangerous situation should someone run off in the ditch. With the depth and abrupt drop off, the vehicle is much more likely to either flip over or sustain more damage.

I could just see what would happen, with all that high tech
machinery, in the hands of our county goons! The first guy cutting
would manage to flip the truck into the ditch, and the second
stooge would cut him to pieces, if he survived the rollover!

Functional, but that equipment wouldn't last a day on Arizona right-of-ways. The rocks and Ironwood would tear it apart.

I bought Tiger mowing edquipment for ADOT; it's much heavier duty than anything else on the market. Check them on online.

Those Swiss are amazing farmers. For the limited ground they have to farm, they farm it all. Before these machines came along they used a sythe. Just think of the work once the hay is cut, rake it up and haul it to the barn. Those hills are as steep as a cows face with good grass and they use it. Here is the US we wouldn't think of farming ground like this.
Very interesting video.

When I live up in N. Idaho 10 years ago, our county had a unit that worked similar to the one trimming brush along road sides. It left a mess. I was like a chipper, and ground up everything.
