Around 7:30 this morning got woke up with thunder and the sound of rain on the roof. Went out latter to see how much we got and the rain gauge had been knocked over by one of them pests. Was just enough rain to make the garden and grass around it wet and also showed sign on the cement here and there but the dirt is still dust. Oh well at this time any rain is better then no rain and it is thundering again so maybe just maybe we will get enough to help

I heard thunder around 3am .. got up to see what was going on ... had 17 hunderths then ..
got up around 7am and we got a 1/4 inch ..sure the grass and trees soak it up before it hit the ground ... ever little bit helps ...

have to pick beans tommorow .. I been water garden about ever other day .. well water ...

Hopefully you get more, we had that front come through, though none of the heavy storms, but it set up for some soaking rains, not sure how much, but the ground was still hard, grass not growing, I have not cut since the end of June, there was some rain in between just not enough to do anything, now it will certainly count. Some of the corn fields were stressed others not, our soil does hold moisture.

Good timing to, just planted a round of spinach and lettuce, 2 days of humid, light rains, drizzle, ought to be up in no time.

I have been pocking beans every other day and the last time I did we got 2 gal. of them and this is out of 2 small areas of plants that are 6 foot wide and up and over my PVC pipe frame so you stand under the plants to pick them

Had a couple of nice rains here, but hay doesn"t seem to be growing... Hoping for another cutting, watching the fields closely!

Were very dry up here too! We did get about 1.1/4 or so since Friday. Creeks aren't even running! I see alot of the storms went south of me, down toward the Catskills. Least I got the hay baled in less than a month! I'm glad for that. Gotta neaten up the horse pasture with the mower. Last summer I must have brushogged it 3 times by now. Good year for seasoning the firewood at least lol,,, I just wish this humidity would leave.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????? What hay been so dry here there is not such thing as hay unless we get some real rains

Yes on the firewood, got mine done here this spring, but the power company left another pile of logs from that new 115,000 volt circuit crossing Rt 67 near the other place, + an older stack, I've got to get that squared away shortly.

Humidity, while uncomfortable, ok, have to carry a sweat rag in the back pocket, no headband works for me, stop often to wipe the brow and take in some water, also wear a ridiculous straw hat, (LOL, does keep the head cooler and those darn black flies off) The darned black flies have been just getting worse the last few years. I cannot believe how thick they are, swarm you, at night you got to clean em out of your air filter (nose LOL) now there is a purpose for nose hair LOL !!!! Just leave that trimmer in the box for the summer, darned things !!!

Last year the mosquitoes were thick, and this spring, but that hot dry weather eliminated them for now, but I tipped a couple of buckets I was using as traps for chipmunks over, hundreds of larvae, glad they did not get away !

I sure wish we could share some rain with you guys up north.

Typical Western Washington thing here, thankful for some of the rain, but wish it was warmer for more consistent periods. My vegetable garden still things that it is spring! It is also a myth that it rains here a lot, ...usually after the 4th of July, it gets bone dry,..so far not this year.
