OT - Weather - Storm Headed thru NY

In case anyone has not seen the weather, they predict some high winds and possible tornado's, who knows, but it sure looks plausible given the maps and radar, etc., headed down to remove a gate near a rotted hollowed out hard maple tree, just know that widow maker giant limb, whats left of this old tree really wants to land on that darned gate, have not got to taking it down yet, maybe ole mother nature will get it done and save me the trouble !

Be safe out there, high winds and all, sounds like a good time right now to "batten down the hatches" !
 
It looks like it is going to track to the south of us through the Southern Finger Lakes and the Southern Tier. Would not mind more rain but not if the chance of large hail is present.
 
They warned of potential, and I say "potential" 2" hail, we have not seen any large hail in a long time or a high wind straight line wind storm since late June 2007, where a small but potent one hit us directly, bent young trees over, ruined a stand of hardwood, later finished off by 2008 ice storm. Amazing how compact a storm can be and still deliver a knock out punch, that one had the power off 12 hours and did so much damage, trucks and linemen coming from Syracuse to repair this 32 mile circuit, the power company did not even put some one on the site of primary wires stretched to the ground by a tree limb like in the photos in my next post, volunteer fire company had to set up shop and tie up their resources to keep people away from it, one little storm is all it took. I raised h$ll with the power company, got an engineer on the phone for 1/2 hour and within 45 minutes, a line crew showed up to relieve the fire company, had they been needed someplace else, they were tied up already.
 
We received .8 inches a little past 4 this morning. I thought we might receive more late this afternoon but I do not think it will happen.
 
I'm a little north west of Albany, we had some rain over nite, nothing all day and a shower right now, I heard on news Elmira NY and Binghamtom got hit pretty hard with winds, and possible tornado.?? The bad storms were south of me, all the way down to Pennsylvania.
