Old sprayer compared to new one in back ground. I bet it was fun driving the high riding tricycle on our hilly Indiana ground.

Thanks for the very interesting pic.

That bad boy is homemade. Back when, if you couldn't find what you needed, you rolled up your sleeves and BUILT what you needed.

If I were to guess, I'd bet that was built in the late 60's, early 70's to put insecticide on silking corn to kill off silk beetles. About that time a 420 was worth scrap price and no harm done in making it into what you need.

Not a 420 in the pic. it's a 50 by the looks of things.

It's very much a 420 or a 40. A 50 has a crossways engine like a 520, 60, 70, 630, 720, 820, 830, A, B ect This shows a inline engine. The nicely painted one to the right looks like a 520.
