extension site advisor

For a few weeks now I've been seeing a delay to get to internet sites.

In the lower left of the screen, it says "Waiting for extension SiteAdvisor" I checked this out and it says it's a McAfee item for some kind of "protection".

It is quite annoying in the delays. How can I get rid of it? (delete)

Uninstall McAfee from your computer, but be aware, you then open yourself up to all sorts of viruses and worms that install themselves via your web browser.

I buy my computers and get internet through a local computer store (I can call with tech questions at no charge). They're a sharp bunch. They formerly used AVG for security, but are now recommending the Microsoft security program built into the newer windows versions. They say its about the best thing out there.

Microsoft Security Essentials is free and works as well as any product you buy. And it doesn't get in the way like many of them.
