Handi-dandi "little" grill we saw at a Root River show this weekend (MN). It belongs to Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch... don't know who thought it up/made it.

Thought it was cool when we picked our daughter up from summer camp in June, but did not have my camera with me. Yesterday when we went to the threshing show, there it was. *I see an extra tank off to the side - would not want to be the one who had to switch tanks! Assuming that involves a tractor, though.

Will post some show pics one of these days - just have to have time to reduce the pixels on them for easier loading/viewing. Show is usually jam-packed, but attendance was down quite a bit this year as it rained some on all three days (NOT COMPLAINING THOUGH - farmers need the rain for sure, in addition to lawns, gardens and trees).

Sweetfeet,

I lived in Stewartville, MN back in the early 70s. The founder/owner of Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch is man named Bob Bardwell. He's a great guy with an UNBELIEVABLE life story. He's run the ranch since he and his dad started it 40 years ago and has done a great job of building it up from nothing.

Thanks for the picture.

A local convenience store/gas station has a conveyor grill that you put a raw frozen hamburger on one end and a short time later a broiled burger comes out the other. You add your own fixin's. I can just imagine this thing as a conveyor grill with good stuff coming out the chaff end.

I love your pictures. What software do you use to reduce the pixels? I have an iPhone and it takes a lot of time to upload pictures? I also use a mac and iPhoto. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Fullers Farmalls,

Thanks.

I use Corel Paint Shop Pro X2... and just figured it out recently when Dave2 mentioned "resizing" in a post. Looked in Corel help to figure it out...so I reduce pixels by 45-50 percent and they still look decent when posted online, but load MUCH faster.

I just copy pics to a folder for posting, then only modify pics in that folder (*I always save my high quality originals in a different folder...actually on an external hard drive). Easy, but time consuming doing one photo at a time. Need to look and see if I can do an entire folder at once.

Tom in TN,

We've met Bob Bardwell and have heard him speak, but don't know him personally. But yes, from what we know of him... incredible man, incredible story.

If you have not seen "The Ranch" since the 70's, you would be amazed. Now they have The Miracle Lodge, an enclosed riding arena, swimming pool, tennis court, paved paths in main areas, and a large chapel building. They do camps especially for physically handicapped and also special military camps for those injured while serving our country. This weekend they have the third annual Miracles Happen Festival. Tony Melendez (among others) will be playing - he is guitar player born without arms. You ought to hear him and Bob razz each other about their challenges in life. They are really comedic on stage together.

Fullers Farmalls,

Forgot to say, make sure the software is compatible with a mac. Also, it goes on sale periodically, so don't pay full price. They may be up to version X3 or X4... but I'm just sticking with 12. There are also combined version where one can edit video as well as photo files.
