IH Cub Lo-Boy 184__Throttle Cable Issue

I installed a new throttle cable on my 184. Now when I push the throttle lever to the fast position, it will not stay. When I let go of the throttle lever it is getting back pressure from somehwere and it pushes the throttle lever back to the half throttle position. I am at a loss as to how to correct this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check the cable for a kink in the outside shielding. The out side is just like a small diameter spring. If it is binding an not sliding through a single spot it will act like a spring and return the throttle.

I think you have to snug up the bolt and nut that go through the lever. The friction on it holds it in place.
